Caroline’s Story – Så hittade hon sin väg

Caroline’s Story – Så hittade hon sin väg

My name is Caroline Arousell, and I am working on this project with FCV Sverige, and I want to share my story in the hopes that it might help or inspire people.

I was born in Sweden but moved to Switzerland when I was only 8 years old. My passions back then were art and horse riding. When I was 13, my dad sadly passed away, and I started to struggle to go to school and struggled with motivation. Even with everything going on, I managed to get through high school but I still wasn’t sure in what direction I wanted to go in life.

Once I got out of high school, I went to a Game Artist school, thinking that that was what I wanted to do.After a year, I got burnt out, and felt like I wanted to do something else related to art and design but was not sure what I wanted to do and learn. I quit the Game Artist school and stopped studying for half a year.

During those months, I stayed indoors, played games, and did not interact with people outside of my family. I was starting to feel worried about my own future, so I started to look into potential schools I could apply to.

I realized after looking around, that I wanted to move back to Sweden, to continue my studies, which allowed me to find the school I am currently in, which is the Web Developer school here in Boden. I am glad I managed to find something I wanted to do in the end.

I wish that while I was struggling with figuring out in what direction I wanted to go in life, that there was a similar project going on that would support me and help me finding my way.
