A flying start to 2025 for FCV Sweden

The year has barely begun, yet so much has already happened—both in society and within FCV Sweden. While unemployment and loneliness remain major challenges in our society, we also see opportunities to make a difference.

We have welcomed LIA students and interns from the Indie Game Development program at Hola Folk High School and Futuregames at Boden Gamecamp—young, passionate talents eager to contribute to the fight against loneliness.

We attended the Reach for Change kick-off and, just this week, became part of the Baltic Sea Impact Network—an opportunity to strengthen our work and collaborate across borders.

Read on to meet some of our new talents and discover what’s coming next!

Kick-off with Reach for Change

The incubator year is underway, and we are proud to work alongside social entrepreneurs from across the country as part of the Reach for Change community. Here, the selected social entrepreneurs in the incubator meet to exchange experiences and drive real social change. The goal is clear: to scale up solutions that make a difference for children and young people while building sustainable social initiatives with long-term impact.

The same passion fuels our work with game developers and creatives. Turning challenges into opportunities is our superpower, and our interns and game developers are stepping into a year filled with creative growth. This is where ideas take shape, innovations are tested, and solutions are developed with real user needs in focus. What is needed to break isolation? How can we strengthen relationships and foster engagement in new ways?

By combining creativity with innovation, we develop solutions that both inspire and support. From bold ideas to scalable initiatives, we look forward to a year where young creatives become part of the future of social change.

Do you want to be part of this journey? There has never been a better time to support our work! We are looking for sponsors and partners in the fight against loneliness—together, we can make a real difference.

Interns in Boden

Oskar och Regis

Oskar Krooks – Game Designer

Oskar wants to deepen his knowledge of what it’s like to work in the gaming industry through various projects. He was drawn to FCV Sweden because we combine two of his biggest interests: games and helping others. His goal after his studies is to work as a Game Designer and continue exploring his passion in the industry.

Regis Kulla – Game Artist

Regis will be working with concept art, 2D, pixel art, and possibly 3D during his internship. He chose FCV Sweden because he is passionate about making a difference—helping young talents who lack the right conditions to enter the industry. His long-term goal? To make art education more accessible for everyone.

We Are Now Part of the Baltic Sea Impact Network

Through Reach for Change, we have now joined the Baltic Sea Impact Network, a unique transnational network for peer learning among social entrepreneurs from Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Ukraine. The goal is to help network members develop new skills, connect with like-minded people from neighboring countries, and increase social entrepreneurs’ access to key stakeholders.

Going forward, this means we will have the opportunity to visit members from other countries to exchange experiences, as well as participate in regular meetings—both digitally and in person. It’s incredibly exciting to gain this opportunity to connect with other social entrepreneurs in the Baltic region!

Business Breakfast at Boden Business Park

We had the opportunity to share what’s happening at FCV Sweden at the first Business Breakfast of the Year at Boden Business Park. In addition to talking about Årets Hejjare and our acceptance into Reach for Change, we took the chance to introduce the launch of Hot Skills.

Hot Skills is a new way to highlight hidden talents and boost motivation among young adults who are neither working nor studying. The job market is changing rapidly, yet many young people experiencing loneliness and exclusion have lost faith in a better future. These young individuals struggle with low self-esteem, don’t see their skills as assets, and feel that the adult world doesn’t care.

With Hot Skills, we highlight the most important competencies of the future and make them accessible in an inspiring and creative way. Together with young people, we are working towards a fairer job market—one where talent and drive matter more than bias!

We are looking forward to the rest of 2025 with great anticipation. And this is just the beginning of how we tackle major social challenges. Imagine a job listing where the dream job isn’t just available—it’s something players can compete for!

Through gaming, we are taking recruitment to the next level.

This will be both meaningful and fun!
